Not a bay but having start up issues with other halves bug, have rebuilt and replaced everything before fitting. But not its in and running cant seem to get it to run for long. Engine 1600 with Icts, electronic dizzy and standard pump. Seems to struggle starting from cold understandably but will run for a few minutes and stop then struggle restarting, it appears to get getting fuel but as you know it has a metal fuel line through chassis so Im not sure if its getting enough fuel for twin carbs...... Engine struggles to rev a little and has occassional pop from carbs I have tried with known regulator, pump from camper so rules those out and have a filter temporary to see fuel being pumped to carbs and only about 30% full. Had it running only in garage for short bursts and was on our way to get carbs balanced. Thanx
Carburettor popping - rich , then flooding so it wont restart. Weber carburettor- check fuel metering valves as they may be worn. Once the outlet pipe inside a filter is under the petrol level, and the inlet is arranged so air cant bubble back up it, there is then no way for any more air to get out. So it doesnt have to fill the filter for it to work perfectly. Thats not a good test. Either take the top off the carburettor and look to see there is fuel in the float bowls, or take the fuel hose off and check how fast it fills a jamjar when cranking with the ignition disabled.
