It's easy to make light of, but there are some complete fools out there & it's amazing more people don't get killed around the locks. This picture below is why I'm very wary of rivers, it's not the natural environment for the flat bottomed displacement hull. @Rustydiver, you & yours be careful down on them there Severn & Avon big river thingys
Thanks I'm staying put on the canal until I get used to it. Then upper reaches off the Severn which I believe is not tas tidel as the Lowe reaches if that makes sense.
Sounds like a plan! We went down the Worcs & Birmingham via the 30 locks of Tardebigge into Worcester a couple of years ago. As you may know, the cruisers choice is to travel upstream to Stourport but the Severn was in flood. It was an impressive sight and the volume of water was incredible. We decided to go back up Tardebigge into Birmingham & down the Staffs & Worcs just to get into Stourport. You can't rush canal life
Lincomb weir lock is a bit like your picture. Just below Stourport on the Severn. Lock is on the portside, weir on the starboard
I just hope Mrs Rusty don't want carrying over the threshold when we get the keys Friday. The back ain't what it used to be.
