My Nan used to have a mangle...

My mum had a Hotpoint Twintub, with rubber pipes that connected to the taps. And some wooden tongs.

We've got a Bosch Exxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxcel.

Aye me Mum had a Copper that she boiled the clothes in and a mangle in the garden and when I were bad she used to whack me with the Copper stick! Tell the kids of today and they won't believe you!!

I used to play jet pack on spectrum.

I remember dangling the rubber pipe into the twin tub spin dryer when you lifted the lid it carried on spinning until it slowly came to a halt, it grabbed the pipe and twisted it to about a foot long nearly ripping my arm off in the process
Health and safety hadn't been invented then , thankfully, we just learnt not to be so stupid next time

 

The youth of today, with their X-Boys and TweetBook. We had to make our own entertainment.

 

My Nan used to have an iron that plugged into the Front room light fitting, it had dodgy brown braided flex, still it was better than the ones she used to heat in the fire!
