My leisure battery won't fit

  1. Hi All,
having just recieved my 110AH battery, trying to fit it in to the stowage on the left hand side of the engine bay the space where the spare wheel goes is stopping me getting it in.
As i stow my spare on the front am i going to have to cut into the metal or bash space to get my battery in? Is it possible to remove (unbolt) this unused area and free it up for my tech?
    Many thanks
    Dean

  2. You must have a high battery? Mine fits but its a bit snug ...

  3. Are you sure it don't fit ? mine is tight, very tight in fact, but it does go in with some fiddling, what are the dimensions of yours ? I can go measure mine and we can compare..........i.e, if mine is the same and fits, then so should yours...........at least do this before you start cutting or bashing

  4. and it would be a cutting job...

I've thought about doing it a few times, clears room for firetec, 2nd 85ah battery etc. Not much space lost in the wardrobe.

  5. Wow How much Power do you need!!!!

  6. Lots!!

  7. My battery (it's a bit of a beastie!) measures l-330mm, d-170mm, h-225mm,
    how big is your's?

  8. its not the size of your battery that counts its what you do with it

  9. Saw a bit off the bottom

  10. Mine's a 90Ah battery, but a low height one and it fits in just peachy!

    310mm L x 175mm W x 190mm H

Although I did measure the space it was going in before I bought it ;)

  11. give or take 5mm as its hard to measure accuratly when on charge, its 365 L x 195 W x 190 H, Its a 110A

  12. What about fitting it somewhere else?

  13. Can you not exchange it ?

  14.
  15.
  16. : hoping for a 'well get you smart @rse' smiley to magically appear here

  17. I can try and exchange it, it came from JK, i'll have to pay for double postage!!
Maybe i'll measure the space i've got before i get another one!
I'm going to have a look at fitting the battery in the space where the spare wheel should go first! I think this must be a wasted space i could use!
    Thoughts?
