MST Raptor belt slipping?

  1. Same with mine - pulley off to change the belt - but how often does your fan belt snap ("never" is the answer ;))

  2. Yes - never .
It's a spangly solution to a problem that doesn't really exist...

  3. The trouble lies with the wrong or cheap bearings .. technically there is nothing wrong with these .All modern cars run a multi v Aux belt with a sprung tensioner . When I fitted my SC I used a Audi A5 tensioner and bearings

  4. Agreed. The weak points or the set up seem to be belt alignment, possible bearing failure and the whole adjustment jockey arrangement working loose, any of which would trash the engine within a few minutes....

They certainly look more serious now. Back when I bought mine the tensioner bearings were small, the tensioner was not spring loaded and the inner part of the bearing free to slide up and down the shaft no doubt to line it up. I think half the time the bearing was spinning on the shaft. It was a poor design. They won awards for their machining, but the design was a failure IMO.
