At today's Austrian GP, Morbidelli and Zarco have a 200 mph collision and nearly take out Rossi with one of their cart wheeling bikes . No serious injuries fortunately. https://twitter.com/i/status/1294972396055789568
how did that miss. Next door neighbour's lad spent weeks in hospital having various body parts stitched back on after doing something similar.
You can see his hands are off the bars in what looks like instinctively protecting his head. Incredible.
On Quest tonight @6pm or 7pm on +1 . Horrific incident , so pleased everyone walked away - just ... So what`s this about F1 being dangerous ??
No, he used to race. Don't ask me what size bike, all I know is it used to cost his family loads even though he had sponsors. Edit; just checked 125 superbike championships
Nope , after my time I'm afraid . More of the Lougher, Newton, Palmer, Hodgson era when it was more about the party ... About 2000 the ACU brought in a rule encouraging teenagers into the class , it was seen as a 'starter' class but with that came the monied idiot fathers and pressured kids who couldn't ride so most of the 'seasoned' riders went elsewhere. Shame it went downhill but the whole scene changed when Johnny Palmer started buying circuits and costs rocketed in the 2000s . I suppose you could argue the '90s were a golden era - were in my eyes anyway . Riders were certainly more aware of the consequences of crashing unlike today when barging past and block passing seem the norm - it was never a 'win at all costs' attitude , good riders didn't crash , or mores the point didn't hit anyone else...
