Moonraker Roof. Gas Struts.

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by smoggyrich, Sep 27, 2013.

  1. Hi there.

I require new gas struts for my Double top Moonraker. I have found a company that sells replacements. (SGS engineering). On their site they offer a Re-gassing service.

I'm just wondering if anyone has had their struts re-gassed and if so how much did it cost and did it work?

    Thanks for any help.

  2. Is it really worth the bother of getting them re-gassed?

I ordered 3 struts from SGS and they arrived the next day £30 each delivered. Fitted them in about 30 minutes and the roof works perfectly.

  3. I suppose not if you have plenty of money. But at £120 for the full set of 4 I thought it might be worth looking at their re-gassing service if , like they say, it is a fraction of the cost.

Why did you only get 3?

  4. The 4th one had been replaced at some point. How much is regassing, out of interest?

  5. Not sure yet mate. I have sent an email to them. Just waiting for a reply.
