  1. So are you going to fit it all wuankathonik without the cover so you can see it working?
    :)

  2. i have a standard gearlever (its hung on the garage wall) and could never find a gear apart from reverse when slowing down at a junction, makes a loverly grating noise, i to have a scat shiny lever in the van aswell. that ones rubbish though, you can find all the gears and it doesn't play the same tune when changing gear. bit of a gap between the lever and handbreak so don't get bruised knuckles. i'll try and adjust it so its closer...:D

It's so lazy of these manufacturers not to crank their shifters to avoid the handbrake like the originals. I look at them and think "these manufacturers simply don't care if it works properly" so I don't like them and don't have one myself. Also when fitting them for customers it's obviously going to be my fault if they clash with the handbrake lever so I have to adjust the brakes and cables too. PITA when a cheap bush or two would have sorted the gearchange, but peeps do like shiney bits.

We've got a Scat. Took me a while to get used to it, but does the job nicely and doesn't foul on the handbrake.

2 years and still going strong. What's the preferred stick for a bay? Stock?

  10. I finally went with the CSP & I'm well chuffed with it, I even managed to carry out the switch me, myself & I (a great leap of faith).
I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a handbrake free gear change.

I replaced my standard one with an Empi trigger shifter, its not like stirring a bucket of bricks anymore, but if your going to change the shifter after spending X amount for it,its best to spend another 10 or so quid to do all the plastic couplings in the gear rods under the van, maybe even the connecting block by the gearbox too, this will improve shifting even more. And ajust your hand brake properly while your under there...Trouble free then, mines more like driving a car.(sort of,but deffo better....;) )

  12. My Empi was brill once I'd sorted out the spacer height but this came along at the right time and so in it goes.
The Empi is going to go in the Crewcab after it's had a little session with the pipe bender. ;)

  13. I've always enjoyed Pipebender's films, although they're a bit depressing.

Why would you want reverse and 2nd at the same time?

    Those shifters are fine.
It won't clash with the handbrake.

  19. Fitted it, hated it.
Took it out, re-engineered the Shiite bits.

As I said, the Scat shifters come no where near the hand brake!
Empi ones are a whole different ball game though.

Is that a rhd one in a lhd van?
    :D
