i see more mini's on the hard shoulder than bays these days ??? i saw three mini's last night about 8 this month and no bays . Whats happening are we getting all spannered up and good or are the mini guys still trying to get it right ?.
that last of the fuel injected minis are now 10-18 years old and are suffering engine management problems they are popular with their side impacted bars ,air bag systems and proper interior but the electronics were never designed to last this long the mini forums technical section is full of injection mini electrical problems
minis have lots of get togethers like vws ,so people risk driving long distances without proper mechanical know how... 8)
It's easier to change engines on a Bay.. There's only 4 bolts, And an Impreza engine slips in ) You don't get that with Mini's
Its usually cos its raining and the coil sits behind the front grill and it gets wet and decides not to work, putting a rubber glove over the coil aint cool if youve spent forever dressing your engine up. I likes Minis (Austin ones that is)
None broken down tonight but just been passed by a lovely travellor estate or did they call those countryman? .
If I'm not wrong I'm pretty sure the countryman is the one with wood and the traveler the one without I reckon the reason they break down is lack of use, our kid has one, 1380 stage 3 head big cam high lift rockers etc etc he goes through stages of next to no use and it breaks down. More recently he insured me on it and between us it gets loads of use (and a good spanking) and it hardly ever goes wrong
love the older minis, my 1st legal car was an 1100 , i sat my test in it , how i adored that car!low life scum nicked it Grrrrrrr ! i certainly learned to do quiet a bit of spannering on her ,really was a love affair!
