Steering wheel attendant -- have'nt heard that in years , i prefer what i do trucking does'nt involve passengers and their hassle . good luck to you Rich if this is the way you go
My mate shane has alwaysed been a taxi driver in Leeds, maybe 20 years ,he loves the crack, I did a bit moonlighting but did`nt like it much... hire the bus out... ;D
My dad did cabbing on and off for many years, and a mate of mines a black cab driver, (he never seems to work, but isn't short on cash) but round these here parts I wouldn't say its too much fun anymore, have you looked into getting your licsense for reigate area, and the odds of getting on the books of Gatwick cars of whatever they're called, at least then you'd get some reasonable price jobs and its gotta be better than running drug dealing chavs around?
Cheers guys. I'm not going to do it. I've always been interested in Black Cab driving though. - Maybe one day!
My Dad's a London cabbie and has been for the last forty years. I think he's disliked almost every minute of it but he's sucessfully made sure a family has never wanted for anything. I'm always proud to tell people what my father does for a living. He's semi-retired now and hopes to be fully retired in the next 18 months. I doubt he'll ever hand his badge in though and will still do the odd day here and there until he finally keels over. Funnily enough the streets of London is the only thing that my Dad and I can really bond over. He's not into anything I am (football's a big thing for me and he has no interest at all), but we can happily talk about driving in London till the cows come home (I commuted into town and visited clients on a scoot for eight years).
