  3. what makes you think 3d printing one would be any good ? If it were me I’d make a brass one

  4. Depends on the material, the design, the print. I'd say definitely print one.

  5. If you know the size, the type of teeth, and how many there are, you can use any one of a number of parametric generators that will create an STL for you.
If your printer can print Nylon, I'd try that first.

  6. too much creep , if a solid molded plastic one won’t last a 3d printed one won’t . Brass brass brass if he sends me his original busted one I’ll make him one of each

Apart from the fact old nylon or nylon that somebody has exposed to the wrong lubricant cracks, if the odometer is eating that cog then something else is wrong, putting too much load on the cog.

A 3D printed nylon cog off a well set up printer should work.

Some peeps on here have used cogs obtained at model shops. Worth a search of TLB.

  11. I designed and had someone knock up a 3d print job for mine which has held up so far (but only done a couple of thou miles so far on it) - you're probably aware, but KMH and MPH speedos have different sizes/teeth
