I have a 7-passenger Microbus that came with a full-width z-bed to convert the rear row into a nearly king-size width bed. My intentions are to leave the middle row in situ for the late autumn to early spring to be able to use Harvee as a bus, but remove the middle row for camping season. I'd like some sort of collapsible storage/kitchen units that will sit behind the driver and passenger seats, but that can be removed easily, so nothing too heavy (heavy also being a downside, especially at 4000ft, heading up towards 10,000ft for some of the camp sites around here. The rubber floor mat will be staying too - the z-bed mechanism would require any other flooring to be bodged around with, and with two dogs, rubber might be better anyway (especially as the Dalmatian sheds a fair bit, the Shih-Tzu not so much!). ;D I could just use cool boxes and the like, I suppose, but am thinking more of any designs/plans out there that I can use to make some more attractive/usable units. Any ideas?
So, to answer myself, I may be using various camper interiors as guides (not much choice over here, unlike the UK), but making my own. I'm thinking that aluminium F-stock like this: With 1/4" finished plywood feeding into the channels - presuming that the ply can be thin as the aluminium stock is the strength Add wooden triangle braces screwed into the inside of the aluminium to rest shelves on etc
I'm just starting on the planning, so nothing as yet. If I decide to go down this route, I'll keep the thread updated.
