About time I posted a few pics. Got my bus in Aug 2011. Previous owner restored all the bodywork and had it sprayed. I have uprated the suspension and had new wheels, as well as quite a lot of other mechanical bits to tidy her up. (still got the drivers front wheel to change over as my locking wheel nut has eaten itself !!). Awaiting new engine and gearbox. Just picked it up and on the long drive home Front New wheels on Metal Flake roof (hard to see in this pic) Back - new bumper ready to go on soon Inside (jean effect panels) Another interior pic My new bottom end being built up Well there he is so far. Still got to lower the back some more, get the new rear bumper fitted, re do the interior and get my new engine and gearbox fitted, which are being built..... Oh and remove the vinyl window graphics!! Roll on the summer
Few more pics of the work being done at the moment. Gauges going in. Just need to rip out all the old stereo wiring and tidy up the dash. Gearbox and electric fuel pump Gearbox Gearbox and new cv joints Oil Cooler Engine (nearly done) Engine
cheers, Type 2 detective drop spindles and coilovers on the front. Beam adjusters on, but set back to standard as the drop spindles take all the height out. Rear has type 2 detective adjustable spring plates and KYB gas-ajust shocks. Will be bringing back down another inch or 2.
Decutetification,,,not sure if it's a word, but it crossed my mind That's all this bad bad bay needs ;D
Holmsen, nice word You saying he looks too nice, what do you suggest? and no, I'm not spraying it orange and chopping the back half off
Lids are gone, they made the lights leak and the lenses have rusted, so I bought some more. I just chucked them in the many boxes of parts for Mark & Matt to put on. He said they are a pain to do, as Heritage sell Beetle lights and you have to take them apart and reverse everything about. Any plans for yours this year?
Losen is raceready, just try to get some weight of it. And if things float my way, Big Bang is on top of my wanne do list. Camper will get a new engine, have swapt the 3 summer old 2,4 with a new built 2056ccm.
