Hello! New to the forum and to the VDub world (though not entirely new to the aircooled sphere). We have picked our out new edition to our family, and after a 200 journey yesterday he has made it home! We will very much be looking to you guys for help and advice...perhaps most prominently asking about security suggestions and (because I am a coward...and a 200 mile journey in below 5 degs even with thermals just reaffirms this!) heating systems!
Looks lovely that (apart from the side step!) For security I use adequate insurance, for heating I'd use a Propex if I had a stock engine.
Hi from Cheshire, have a look at the heating system and see if there's anything missing for a start, which engine has it got?
Hi all, thank you for your replies! Cunny44 it is a tiny bit lowered I must admit We have been looking at the propex Barry and it does seem to be a strong contender! Flakey we have a strong feeling everything is missing in a heating system! We are going to get it check over but would be grateful on advice on anything to look for on the heating front!
nice looking bus fella, sits well! where are you based, pop a shout for help up on here, see if someone would be good enough to have a look and show you what's needed
Welcome from Yorkshire! Nice bus. There is nothing wrong with the sidestep. My other half is about 5'2" so it's that or a ladder!
nice bus. propex is the popular choice for aftermarket systems (luckily mine has a factory eberspacher) but tbh you need to work out why you're not getting any heat from your current setup. Although it's not a great system if set up properly you should still be getting heat when you're driving. Fixing draughts is also a good idea.
Hello, that's a nice van . I recommend a pair of driving gloves to help with the cold . I've got no heating either and hate getting cold hands!
Kool bus! Yeah I agree it's good to fix the draughts too as they will soon help to cancel out any heat!
Nice bus! +1 for Propex but they do need a healthy leisure battery. We find running ours for 30 minutes or so warms the bus nicely and then we turn it off and you up the warmth if and when it's needed. Mind you if you get a hookup at a campsite a small electric fan heater works a treat.
We have got him booked in with a local for a health check and heating so will check that out before going propex but must say a lot of people do say the propex
The first day travelling invoked fully body thermals and leather fleece lined gloves... I think ski gloves are the next requirement if the heat doesn't get sorted!!
