What gloves (disposible or otherwise) do you use for greasy spanner work? I used to get some latex or nitrile or whatever they were from toolstation but they're rubbish.
Really do need to pick up my new contacts as read the thread title as 'menacing gloves' as was imagining a Edward Scissor hands type of glove
I use blue Screwfix nitrile. They're fine. Vinyl ones will fall to pieces when you get grease on them.
I don't wear any...I can't stand wearing them when doing any spannering...same with jewellery.... wash your mitts with fairy and a big spoonful of sugar
Exactly!! Real Mechanics dont wear gloves! Years ago I was bollocked for putting barrier cream on my hands and then working on an aircraft fuel system. Tony
So far it seems vanorak wants a pearl necklace and snottry runs a lingerie boutique! Its all very well having greasy oily mitts but its a pain when you got to open several doors and get to the upstairs to wash em!
The advantage of gloves IMO is that you don't have to spend Sunday nights scrubbing grease out from under your fingernails.
