As I recall they are called Fiat Amigo's and you can get camper versions with pop up roofs.

 

Ah the good old days of paint over rust or even skip a coat of paint if the guy doing it was having a bad day....
Fiats in general had a terrible reputation for rust just like BMC. Dormobile did a conversion based on the Amigo but with tiny engines and very little space they weren't successful.

 

It would be a lie if I said I didn't like those little Fiat vans. I'd love to take a look over one again.

Saw the Fiat on hol in italy
Tiny little thing
Also loads of old 500's with very little rust
presume it's our salty roads
