Mad Matz

  1. Just received my set of mats from Mad Matz.
Can anyone advise do have to remove the wheel arch rubber mats to fit them not tried fitting them yet thought I would pick the brains on here first

  2. I took everything out and glued them to the arches. Needed a bit of trimming to fit under the seat. The floor one is just loose, but it stays put because of the pedals and gearstick.

  3. I always removed the rubber mats, scraped off the debris and used Hi Temp Auto aerosol glue to fit the new ones - you'll get a decent finish :)

  4. The more removed the better, Clean the area, the cleaner the better, in this weather I would pre heat the inside of the van or wait for warmer weather, I used a roller to apply, definitely worth it.

  5. Have spoken to Mad Matz on another issue which i hasten to add is not a Mad Matz problem but a build problem.
the right hand kick panel on tilly also has the winscreen washer bottle built in to it there fore the Panel supplied by Mad Matz will not fit, this new panel has a hole cut in it for I assume to gain access to the washer bottle if it is fitted in that area, does anyone know of a replacement bottle to fit that would allow me to fit the new panel and fill up the bottle from the access hole.

I think you have the rare swedish washer bottle there (@snotty will know).
A standard washer bottle would allow you to fit the madmatz kick panel.

  7. As @JamesLey said, that looks like a swedish washer bottle. I’m sure Mark at Mad Matz could design something that would fit if you tell him what you have.

  8. Yep, Swedish bottle and they're excellent. Don't go back to the torpedo style. They're crap.

  9. Yes you are probably right, Tilly was a Swedish Air force crew bus in an earlier life, i found a spent 7.62 cartridge case in the rear air vent one day.
I will have another chat with Max.

  10. Is that the torpedo looking one with built in waterpump ,

  11. not on mine (78 usa spec) its shaped like a torpedo so it holds the pressure - you pump it up with a bicycle pump, usually once a year just before the mot test ;-)

  12. On mine, I had to partially stick carpet to it, as it’s such an odd curved shape. I’d doubt whether a flat mat will fit.

  13. I was going to make a stiff card template and send it matz to .Ke a mat with just the foam back so I can stick it on the kick plate,
    Cheers
