Okay my new bus has been lowered, not much but I want to put it back to stock height I prefer the look and to be honest if you hit a pothole it 'bottoms ' out perhaps new shocks would stop that but I don't know, can anyone tell is lowering easily reversible and if not would new shocks stop it banging.
Also has anyone had all their locks changed so one key fits all including the ignition what sort of cost is it and is it successfull

  2. How's it been lowered ?

There are posts on here showing how to rekey a lock

No idea, I will try to email the company who did it I know they fitted an " antiroll bar as well' according to the receipt it was done by Vdub rest in Bristol. Does it matter did not know there were several ways to lower a bus

yes it does matter how it was lowered bud, could be a cut n shut beam, beam adjusters, drop spindles..it all depends!

Antirollbar should be standard, its probably been replaced due to rust

This is what was done to her

adjusters were welded into the front beam which can be raised back up and the rear was lowered on the torsion arms , this can be raised back up ,

  6. In which case it can be fairly easily restored to the correct height.
Adjusters are much easier than cut and shut, depending on the severity of the lowering it is possible you'll have sufficient adjustment to just raise it back up and lock them off again.
Rear is a simple enough job. Most are done this way.

  7. We had all our door locks done by a chap at custom and commercial. Can't remember the price.I am not sure but if you are keeping the original ignition barrel they can match to this/key.

  8. got to check your locks. if the slot for the key is central (i.e., even space on either side of the key slot, then they are brazilian locks. if they are slightly to one side then they are original. two types of lock are not interchangeable so you will have to scout around for old barrels. there are lots of posts on how to re assemble the barrels so they fit a different key & this guy does kits: David Calton <dave@dubkeys.com>

  9. There is a very good how on here somewhere, I read through this a few times, got myself some spare bits that you interchange inside the lock & have managed to match up all the doors to one key! For some reason I couldn't match the doors to the ignition, probably because its worn! A fiddly job but if I can do it, so can you!
