That might work fella. I'm just after a window to brighten up the inside and maybe to vent any cooking smells if I put a new interior in.
you got more chance of a sliding window, to be fair i still think if i was you i'd buy a door with the hole already cut and save the original....... i guess it depends on what you want to spend though.
hard to tell without seeing the profile but i THINK this is a panel van conversion slider http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-CAMPER-T2-BAY-WINDOW-SLIDING-WINDOW-/121039864366?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c2e89c22e
this might go cheap - it finishes on a silly day and time http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-BAY-WINDOW-SLIDING-DOOR-/221167750016?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item337ea00b80
i'm agreeing with you dude! i just know more often than not most devons were panel converts as they were cheaper than microbus ones that westy used.
let's make it clear..... 'cos i'm easy confused..... you want to put a window in the other side, was it a sliding door or is it a panel - that's why i said earlier was it a slider that had been filled in? eitherway you'll deffo need a panel van window not a microbus one.
as baysearcher says that door with the window in was originally on a microbus as it's got a recessed window in so the previous owner had the idea to not butcher a panel van door.
mines a devon on a kombi it was only some of the late vans than were panel vans as the price of kombi went up. I think it went like this Panel van = no windows Kombi = with windows Micro bus = opening rear windows and seats
Not a purist by any means (seen my bus?) but that panel looks bloody lovely as it is (imho)! I'd happily cut a lesser panel.
i'm no purist either but i do love a panel and can't see why cutting a window in the drivers side (as it's a lhd) will help, if it's that dingy in there and you need more light get a windowed rear door and save your solid one, that way you can always get a panel van slider and refit the rear hatch when you realise panels rock.
