I did a Last Minute 'secret' hotel thing when I went to O2 to watch the music of Star Wars #geek. It was £60 for the night - but that was about 2 years ago ... you don't know what hotel you are going to be in - but when you read the descriptions you can usually work it out.
Don't do what I did last time I went to London. I walked into what I thought was the Hilton at Euston drunk and asked for a room for the night. "No problem sir, here's your key" etc etc. Long story short, I woke up to be greeted by the Presidential Suite in the Hilton at Park Lane, and a bill for £1,700. The mrs was well impressed.

A new one's literally just opened up over the road from my office in Victoria. A few people from work have stayed there and said its great and only about £78 a night which for Victoria is amazing. It has "inside" rooms with no windows which are cheaper than the window ones but who wants to look at an office block anyway ) http://www.thezhotels.com/victoria

We stayed in the Premier Inn at London City Airport for the London boat show in Jan paid about £60 a night for four off us. It was one off the better places that I have stayed at.
