When I bought my van, ALL the locks worked with just one key. Went to park it up and lock it all, all the locks work, apart from the drivers side now. What am I looking for in the mechanism?
If the key turns it'll be a spring in the mechanism. Search on here you'll find details. To prove to yourself, take the handle off and see the forked bit through from outside - it should spring towards the outside, if it's loose and flapping about the spring broke. It needs to spring outwards for the lock to engage with it. If it's been graunchy for a while the other possibility is the lever on the handle that engages with the forked bit is loose. That's the easier fix, the tiny spring is a PITA.

It would help to say what the problem is. Key won't turn. Key turns but doesn't lock the door. Won't lock with key but will lock from inside. Won't lock from inside or outside. All have different causes and answers.
The barrel broke in my drivers door about 5 years ago. I bought a replacement barrel which sat in my glove box. I thought I would replace it this summer, and now it’s gone awol
Hi Zed,just looked. Yes, If I lock it with the key on the outside, it won’t open from the inside with the door inner handle, but will still open from the outside. And the key works fine in the lock.
Do you have the locking mechanism in the handle or the knob on the door? If you lock it using knob or handle does it then still open from the outside? (But not from inside)
The outside lock, is in the handle. I lock the door from the outside, but it still opens. However, it won’t open from the inside, when locked with the key from the outside, or the small latch above the bigger inner handle…
