    Cheap as pommes frites! Wonder if they're any good at that price.....but cheap enough to take a punt though.

  3. Thanks @paradox will have a punt at that when i get home.

  4. And a compass too, ever little helps to find the way in the dark.

  5. On a related note....I got an LED lamp....old paraffin storm lantern style one with an LED cluster where the wick would normally go and its been pretty good in the few months I've had it. Still on its first set of batteries and going strong. Was £7 from B&Q :) LED is the way forward

    Aldi stocked them a couple of years ago, they work really well :thumbsup:

  8. that guys a serious seller, feedback of 2.6 million, and they had 10000 of those lanterns, 209 sold to date!!!

  9. Am I the only one who cant stand the light these give off and as for LED torches, no no no.

  10. Im not a fan of the clinical white light these give out
    I much preffer the warm light of a tilley lamp
    However when your in enclosed spaces or have children or drunk adults about led lamps are a much safer option

    As for led torches i love them
    Cree led torches are loads brighter and have a large extended battery life compared to filimant bulbs
    Generally there also smaller and lighter

  11. Head torches in Aldi this week.

  12. had two of these since last xmas, not the best quality, the compass on one points south not north and the on off switches can be a bit dodgy, but when they're working they're great :)

  13. I cant find them on Aldis website?

  14. :lol::lol::lol:

  15. The Aldi lights might be left-overs from the previous week.

  16. I got a head torch from Aldi. It looked the same as an Ever Ready one I had for several years but had corroded due to battery leakage and misuse. The Aldi one suffered from a broken bracket holding the elastic on the first day and then one of the LED's stopped working. I know you get what you pay for but we never learn do we?
