Last time we went to Lacanau we stayed at Les Grand Pins in Lacanau Ocean. This time we went for the lake about 10 minutes inland of the beach. Le Tedey is a massive site (700 pitches) but you would never know unless you go looking for it! The pitches are all in secluded little alcoves with pine trees and hedges keeping things private. Its lovely and shaded during the day (which if its 36 degrees plus like it was for us is a bonus!!) Theres a great takeaway, supermarket, creperie, bar etc etc. The toilets and showers are really clean but a little dark at night due to the lack of lights! There are a few beaches on the site on the banks of the lake. Great for windsurfing, sailing, canoeing etc. The floor of the lake is really gradual making it great for kids. Le Lac des Lacanau is only about 10 minutes from Lacanau town, and 10 minutes from Lacanau Ocean so it gets the best of both worlds. I would happily do a couple of weeks here. The Site: The Bar: The beach: My favourite site this trip
The local fire brigade use the lake for practicing their water pick-ups and drop-offs. The difference between their fire fighters and ours is that they use planes!
We'll see you just after then. Looks lovely but not quite as good as @tuesday_wildchild or @lost-en-france .
That's why we like @Keith.H's field, just a short distance away, idyllic, pub, river, peace and quiet, cricket club, feckin perfect.
ay they would have to order another truck... We have a bottle bin every village we do not disappoint filling it..
Looks superb but annoyed with myself as just looked on the map and was only a few miles north of there a couple of years ago...
