I'd doubt it. Do the earlier gauges even have a voltage reg? Don't think they do.

 

Not usually , wasn't sure if it adding one would just steady things a bit...

If it's waving round due to fuel slosh, possible that you've got an early gauge but a late (float arm) sender. Speedy Jim (RIP) explains all here...

can you stick one of these on an 1971early bay gauge (it's the early type gauge and sender) I've had a new sender put in and tested the gauge seems ok but still jumps around when driving would this stabilizer it or is it anew gauge cheers

 

No.

My understanding is that stopping the gauge waggling due to fuel slosh is done by holes in the tubular sender on the early setups. May be wrong.

yes i have black fuel gauge but some reason no stabilizer, didnt get any info
