I am thinking of getting a laser level , after years of using plumblines and dodgy cheap spirit levels i want an upgrade .
I dont want to spend a fortune, around £50 ish. I know there are many out there for that price but has anyone got one and used it , pros and cons and recommendations, i would be using indoors for wall papering , shelves and out doors aligning fence post paving flags etc .
I know a few will say stick with plumbline and spirit level ...... But i want to buy a gadget thank you

Leica do a great one. Expensive, but you won’t find much better.

Unfortunatly Soggs, Leica is well out of my budget , a quick look proves them to be upwards to over £800 , probably good for professional use, i just want a basic DIY occasional use one , and with so many available i wondered if anyone had got one or/and can offfer any advice which to look for around my price range of around £50

Loads on facebook marketplace for less than £50 the cheaper ones are all much of a muchness. Very handy at a distance over long grass etc, use a bit of dust to see the laser in the sunlight and remember to double check your tripod levels before using it!

I bought a Bosch one for around £50 with an Amazon voucher…. Used a couple of times for home DIY stuff and it’s been fine for shelves, setting out tiles and so on. It’s self levelling.

I’ve seen the ones on site and it’s not as sharp a line or as good over distance. It also doesn’t have a magnet on it which is useful for doing heights above the tripod… that’s a bit of an annoyance as the tripod is only 3ft tall.

if I hadn’t seen the professional tools I’d be nonethewiser and blissfully ignorant!

Ok. I sold one for £80 that I found while strimming once.

I bought this 3 or 4 years ago and it's been fine. It's a generic unbranded thing off ebay, and was £70 or so, perhaps, I can't remember. Been very handy though.
