Finally managed to sort out my computer and found all my photographs from a couple of years ago. Apologies its a bit pic heavy this one. Purchased the bus in Feb 2011, seems like an eternity ago now but this is what he looked like when I went to view him... In his new home for a while..
So set to locating all the worst areas before buying all the parts needed then on with the job.. Bit of filling and primer, thought it looked pretty good... Other side thankfully was looking good so rub down to make sure...
Sliding door needed new bottom.. See what I was up against when working in this old chicken shed.... bit dark.. And with the only light from the single window above and a rather large halogen lamp things appeared to be going well... Bit of L90D Pastel White went on.. See I was having problems with the rear panel and by using cellulose putty it looked really good as the green went on.. Brilliant!!! Not so brilliant when it dried!! Was really excited about what we'd achieved and looked awesome in the workshop!! Then it was a case of putting it all back together...
Too many pics to upload, he's been on the road and MOT'd twice now but still hasn't done more than about a hundred miles in three years lol
Cheers Owen, not quite looking like that now lol. Got a bit OCD with parts and wasn't happy with the rear quarter so this is how he stands now.
With time and funds at a premium just now I've decide to cover him up and save some overtime to have him resprayed in the new year. I'm not tinkering with little bits anymore, job will be done and done properly so next year I can actually use him.
Great progress on Lardy, pity about the section over the arch. Gusbus has 994 in the reg number too Nooooooooooo all buses should be Marino Yellow, its sooo good both ours are that colour
Get some paint over the top of that primer lardy dude Primer is porus and will soak up moisture from the air even when under a cover
I know mate, the doors are gonna be coming off soon whilst it's under the cover to be done properly. Paint will be done in the next month I hope then the rear arch and then the rest of it. Gearbox to be looked at before engine out but I'm going to have a good inspection of body when gearbox is out and maybe even take the opportunity to spray on some underseal
