Ok so we will be having 29 beacons lit tonight in east riding of yorkshire a 100 in lincolnshire, so who else is getting involved. Get out there take some pics and lets post them tomorrow.

We went to the Halifax one. Should have decided earlier really, as the beacon was lit while we were legging it across 2 fields at the top of a sod off big hill in the dark. Heard all the cheering and enjoyed it when we got there though, fab view across Halifax. Pics tomorrow when the teenie has downloaded them from her camera.
As promised a few pics of our Jubilee Beacon and the beautiful Halifax skyline from the top of the aptly titled Beacon Hill I love this one, it looks like the train station platform has been plonked on top of the Nestle factory
just found put that there was one in shoreham last night which is a pain as its only 5 mins away - would have been good to go and watch
Yeah they're weren't that widely publicised - once I actually knew about it, it took me forever to get in contact with anyone who actually knew whether folk could just rock up or not. As it was, we missed the lighting but the view was blimming spectacular and it was a lovely atmosphere.
A village just outside of town nearly brunt the union flag last night as some idiot tied it to the beacons pole. )
I just found out there was a beacon on top of the council offices in Croydon. Shame it didn't burn it down!
First I heard about them was when the queen lit the final one on telly. Poor show really, would of loved to have seen one lit.
Watched the one in Caterham and they always put on a great fireworks show too. Was cool fireworks but the beacon? I mean its just a bit of wood on fire isnt it. Great fireworks though.
