Hi,are they any good for sound proofing from front wheel road noise? Do they originally come in the van when it was brand new?
    Thanks in advance...

  2. Alan Schofield mats on ours soundproofing doesn't come in to it

  3. I don't find road noise a problem.....

It's all the bangs and rattles, from bits falling off that annoys me. I cured this by installing a louder stereo and speakers. :)

  4. like Oscar roadnoise gonna be hard to cure ,it's the other rattly bits I can hear, but I got my underseat cab mats from Schofields 8 years ago and been more than happy with them.

  5. As others have said, they don't soundproof but I did put a soundproof mat on the floor under my carpet set (all from madmatz) which helped a bit. My underseat mats were from JK and fit fine.

  6. We fitted the JK mats and they were a great fit, very pleased with them indeed.

^^^ could be the holes in the floor, i spose,Techno.lol.So these mats are good...gonna get some then to (almost) finish the cab then.;)
Just out of interest, does anyone n here put anything behind the kick panels as sound proofing/insulation..?

  10. Mine has polystyrene. Don't know if its original or not?

  11. Don't think this is original. I did put some insulation behind though. I think it helps with road noise but the rattles and squeaks inside the van drown everything out anyway :D

  12. Here it is.

Looks like a lot of faff if it's a retro fit.

  13. The mats are nice - buy some - but they won't stop noise. Put some bitumen sheet down to stop the cab floor and front panel drumming. It's the only way. Then stick some silver bubble insulation behind the front panel to keep the heat in (the polystyrene's original - but of a half-hearted effort by VW).

the polystyrene's original! I can remember it in mine when it was new.

  16. Good plan. Maybe some mug off here will buy it. :D

  17. I've sound deadened the whole van and it's not perfect but such a good improvement. Haven't even got the interior in yet and it's quiet to drive about.
