The only issue I had with Kamper Chat was the lack of appropriate moderation. I think, on balance, the regulars on here have the wherewithal and sensitivity to know where the line is, and when not to cross it. Occasionaly, someone oversteps it, and the moderators are usually there to jump in. There were numerous times on KC when remarks went unchecked and personal attacks were quite common....all very 'entertaining' for the neutrals, not so for those on the receiving end. In the end, it seemed to be a virtual drop-in centre for white supremacists, who happened to own Campervans....I'm not surprised it died on it's arse. Rotten apples and ruined barrels spring to mind
Don't think it was quite that bad! I think JK was just desperately in need of new blood. Unfortunately, every newbie that turned up was instructed to introduce themselves (in a rather sarcastic manner) before daring to ask any questions. The user base diminished to a few regulars who seemed to spend most of the time discussing what they had for dinner, or their perfect marriage/dog/etc...
