Jammed engine lid lock

  1. Can anyone advise how I can prise open a jammed lock on the engine lid of a1973 late bay?

  3. Hi , I don't know what snotty said but
    I watched the same problem be fixed at techenders last year
    Can't remember who fixed it but someone much cleverer than me carefully prised the rubber seal out. The one between the lock and the engine lid.
    This gave enough play to move tbe lock and open the lid.

  8. Tried soft hammer. Whilst depressing lock
     
  9. Got it open! Lock seems to operate correctly, so can't see what it gets stock on.

  10. Think the strip inside the door, at the top of photo was catching, it'd got bent in a bit.

    What I meant was short sharp shock on the button rather than pressing it. It's pretty common for them to stick like this.

    Thing about it, I realise I unconsciously open mine like this every time. Ah-so!
