it does look good under the panel, the inner section looks to be rot free, which is a plus!

  3. Lol, Milly was there when we took the screen out & bits off but I moved her & the works van up the road long before we fired up the grinder, I learned that glass & sparks don't mix a long time ago, just after I had fitted a new window in the front room of the house doh!

  4. I'm very happy with it I'll spray all the bare metal with weld through primer & it should then last another 30 odd years. :)

  5. Im a bit ocd myself dude but if a jobs worth doing it worth doing to the best of the funds/ability of that person

I just saw the first pic and cringed lol i should have been aware that your not that daft

Any plans for the engine in the champers?
I know a bloke whos very good at little details lol

  6. Im not a big fan of weld through primer used that way

    Its got very poor adhesion
I use it in seams that will be plug or spot welded

If you can reasonably clean the surface rust of an area then always use etch primer then a top coat
If you cant reach the area then spray in a decent rust convertor and once thats cured spray in a quality cavity wax like dinitrol

  7. I am going to spray Dinitrol on after anyway What I'm worried about is if I use normal paint it may make the welding more awkward, or do you think it will be OK?

Chris are those the repro side markers?

If so, be aware that the rubber seals preishes quickly and the two screws are far too long unless you drill into the bodywork - I found they need half the length chopping off. Other than that they are ok!

  9. Yes they are repo, the front ones I used the original screws, the back don't seem to want to clip on, the screws are way to long so I won't use them, for the moment I've used the new cover on the other side on the old marker.

  10. looking good, I've never seen an inner panel in such good condition :D

  11. Chris, to still have the inner valance that was attached to this front panel?

  12. Cheers I was shocked, no rust at all. :)

  13. Yes M8, I got the lot. :)

  14. Would you be interested in selling it on? if you dont need it;)

  15. Yes M8, which bit do you need exactly, is it just the top bit?
