  1. i was listening to radio last eve and Britain"s own j.s.porter was being interviewed re her london teenage years and she said she never did and never would date anyone from south london *she hails from Fulham) i lived in london 4 many happy years and went to south london lots thou never Fulham, so cannot give an informed opinion re any "difference" between the two locations?so, you London dudes , do please tell, what she mean , you think?

  2. Wow I bet there gutted :(

  3. I don't know. Though Fulham now and Fulham when Janet Street Porter was a teenager are probably very different, I mean for a start there are Electric lights.........

  4. you can live in Fulham if you have a lot of money ,you can also live there if your brasic , but its a nice place to live with money . You can live south of the river with money but we are talking about surrey , so if want to live with the posh types live in Fulham its a poor mans sloane sq or Hampstead

  5. surrey?money? hey, i lived in Staines !(massive!!)years ago

  6. You win some you lose some

  7. I think if I lived in Fulham near JSP I'd probably move to South London!

  8. People have this strange thing about North vs south of the river - I knew people who wouldn't come to a party I threw in battersea because it was south of the river.

Likewise being south of the river people we aren't massively fond of going to things north of the river

    Dunno - it's a strange London quirk...

  9. oh right , akin to that Glasgow>Edinburgh thing (sad!)

  10. I knew people who wouldn't come to a party I threw in battersea because it was south of the river

    Really!!!!
I wouldnt want to know anyone who had that mentatlity :dizzy:

  12. cant remember the name of it (was many years ago) there was/is an ace gig place in Croydon saw Walter Trout there ! i love Croydon, and not just because that crazy nutjob world famous model(catwalk) hails from there !

  13.
  14. Glad to hear it Jen :)

  15. is/was there a "hall" down croydon way known as "the assembly rooms"?

  16. It always amazes me that Janet Street Porter has a job, let alone a job writing or talking about her opinions.

99% of Londoners don't care: north south east or west. Sometimes it's a pain to get across the centre, for instance SE London (Croydon / Bromley) to N London. We have friends in Harringay and it's a trek because you have to tube or cab it across from London Bridge to whatever station goes North.

I like South London. Dulwich is posh if you want posh. Then again East Dulwich is rough if you want rough.

  17. as a mega fan if London ,>>i love the Capital!
