I remember when I used to get everyone presents in the green shield stamp shop, my dad would save the stamps which he got with his petrol all year then give them to me to spend, class
this was our local lidl , at 9pm a couple of years ago we were the only customers ..spooky .. it felt like shop lifting
Cheeky cow has just said, were those green shield stamps books part of the governments rationing scheme after the war, I told her to keep quiet or I won't sell her any more nylons
Chips with gravy? You know how to sweet talk a northern lass! I didn't even know they did this! We were so proud a few weeks ago... We beat the IKEA system by going in through the exit (by the tills). Got a reduced price Christmas tree, lots of tins of biscuits plus other stuff from the food section, kids had a hot dog & a play on the iPad style screens then home! Sorted!
Online shopping is the way to go! Ordered a new gas hob with installation on 13th November from Currys. Delivery and installation promised for 14th November. Great, we thought! It's now 19th December, two failed deliveries and two broken on arrivals and we still haven't got it installed yet.
Off down ( up ) to that there London in the morning for a couple of days....should be quiet enough on Oxford Street, right ?
I could cope with Argos when they opened a sub-section in Homebase. Made click & collect a pleasant experience. However, since Homebase got sold to the Australians, the Argos bit is no more. I paid more for the kids annuals from Amazon to be delivered to our home rather than drive to town, pay for parking and suffer the plight of @snotty.
