Does anyone look at the MSN News pages on the internet, if you dont ,then dont bother , its useless .
It has headlines that hook you in then the story is rubbish .
For example "this little known trick for £18 can save you over £300 on heating bills "
Turns out its a tradesman who says you can insulate your loft yourself ,a roll of insulation is only £18 . Dont pay a tradesman to do it.
    Get my drift .

Well how about a great loooong piece today on the BBC website about the more-energy-out-than-in "fusion breakthrough" (sounds like digestive disasters after some experimental eating out) where in the VERY LAST LINE it just quietly mentions the minor detail that the amount of energy put in to get the lasers fired up in the first place is in fact massively more than the energy produced
Damn them I actually enthusiastically read that:mad:

I thought the Fusion one was still a good story. It says it’s still at an early stage but it looks promising

  4. At work they blocked most of our web access, but when Internet Exploder was retired and replaced with Edge, they left the start page set to news.
I totally agree, it puts all the other news sources that one previously thought click-baity, to shame.
I think they realised after a couple of useless stories we'd give in and get back to work.

    It’s a changing world.
Went to my local clinic today for a pre arranged blood test. My GP surgery is brilliant.
The phlebotomist was lovely but said .. she “ didn’t know what to do at 7.am with her wind screen frozen……so she WhatsApp d her friends who then got on “U tube” sent her a link with “a true entrepreneur “ who suggested filling a zip freezer bag with warm water and rubbing it on screen. She went back filled a kettle ….and , in her words …it were amazing , ….Didnt want to deflate her by asking what if a kettle wasn’t available :)

  6. Fusion is always 20 years away, and will remain so IMHO.

The laser fusion people are struggling with a machine that partially self-destructs in the process. For the Americans who like big lasers, it will always just be a big toy and sci-fi film set..

I really like the principle of fusion energy as the one break through to end carbon dependency. I guess the one thing the scientists cannot replicate is the energy of the Big Bang that set in motion to formation of stars…. I mean, there’s ambitious and then there’s Ambitious!

click bait head lines and modern journalism is a real stain on stain on society…. Along with Tik Tok style videos and reels!!

But, but, but, there's a vanishing point ...

In theory maybe but in practice parallel lines never meet!

In theory there's no such thing as a straight line, so the probability is that they will meet .... eventually :)

About the only product I havent seen yet is foot and hand hair restorer.
"This is another product thats disrupting the glove and footwear industry. Two biotechnology researchers who were working for a major pharmaceutical company have started up a company that makes a product that for $1000000 will re grow the hair on your hands and feet. Using the genes from chimpanzees they splice your DNA with a single treatment."

OK, so obvs a vanishing point is implied, which means it can be "off-page"..... but yours isn't.
So "Ner ner ni ner ner"
    :)
