I'm wondering if this plug and socket combo is standard for the 1978 Devon Moonraker/Sundowner with pop-top roof. The socket is located near to the cab light and powers the fluorescent light mounted in the pop-top. If it is standard, does anyone know where I can get a replacement plug. If it isn't standard, how should it be? Many thanks Oli
ill have a looky at mine tomorrow matey and let you know, thats assuming mines original! ha! I have that white cable dangling but dont think it goes to a plug like that. B
Thanks guys. Not sure charm is the word. If anyone knows what it's called or where I might be able to get a new plug that'd be cool. A previous owner glued it as it had split and the negative terminal is connected by only two strands now!
I haven't found a source for the original connector yet. I've had to make do by running a separate power feed (though this time from the leisure battery, so one improvement made) and using a crimp connector. I then crimped a "fork" connector for the earth, which I've attached behind the screw of the pop-top bracket, so quite neat and unobtrusive. If I still have no joy finding the plug and have some spare time, I might use the Manchester Fab Lab to make some using a 3D printer.
I may just hard wire mine to the original socket. I too have taken all my interior lighting off the main battery and diverted it to the leisure battery via a fuse box under my RnR bed. If you do decide to make one, make two instead.
