  1. Bit of a long shot but does anybody have an iphone 5S they are wanting to sell?

I bought the wife one at Xmas but it's been draining the battery in an hour! It's been to apple and had new battery and factory resets etc etc but the problem persisted and now it won't even turn on!

She's on pay as you go tesco if that makes a difference, it come at a bad time, as always, been scraping money together for re spray and trying to save for a family camping trip to Somerset at the end of next month :(

Anyway enough of my moaning! Anyone got one?! :D

  2. I think you get a year warranty on them? I'd be taking it back until they fix it properly.

    That ^^^
Get it back to Apple; its their problem, not yours.

  4. My wife had a similar issue and the apple shop just replaced it. I have always found their customer service top draw

  5. My son was up yesterday and he has iphone 6 , the battery plug is fooked already , n he said hed have to take it to Timpsons to get it fixed  a shoe menders , god these phone companies charge £650 n expect you to take it to a shoe mender to be fixed  . i still have a dino phone n it still works :D

  6. Unfortunately I did not buy it from apple directly but an independent phone shop that specialises in used phones from grade A unmarked to scratched B and C etc, the phone was A+ and did come with a 12 month warranty.

After the problems started I did the usual google search for some info and found out that a certain batch of these phones were built with sub standard batteries and if your serial number was in the affected batch apple would rectify foc.

Excellent I thought, she took it to apple who replaced the battery for free and reset the phone and confirmed it was charging properly. The problem persisted so we took it back they reset it again then said there is a hardware fault and do we want to buy a new phone.

It was then I contacted the original seller (whom I thought I had done a favour by letting apple replace the battery for free) only to be told the warranty was void as the phone has been opened!

I argued that apple should be competent to replace a battery on one of their phones with a brand new apple battery! This was met with much abuse of read our terms and conditions its void no matter who opened it etc etc.

I lost my rag with them and abused them back, tried to find out the (ebay shop iphone outlet, avoid at all costs) trading address to pay them a visit but this all came to nothing but a dead phone!

Did you get the phone via eBay? Put a claim in.

If not then your other option is trading standards.

  8. Pay on a credit card?, get them to claw it back, you have up to 18 months!

I think in certain circumstances you can do this with a debit card as well.
