Hi we found your forum by chance as someone wanted to know about our little workshop and if we really do work in the backstreets of london ? Yep its a backstreet in Greenwich ? we started up building recon aircooled engines for our friends about a year ago one a week and then i put a small ad on ebay and its been mental fun , our background is growing up from the age of 7 around hotrods and american cars and beetles our mechanic has over 20 years building exp as race mechanic for ollys volkspares team back in the 80s/90s around europe , so i joined forces with darren our vw guru and created backstreet kustom ! it was going to call backyard kustoms & back shed kustoms but somehow it didnt work on t shirts as good , We started building our own kustom engines from top fuel drag racing corvettes and came back to aircooled race engines for our own vws which needed something reliable and builletproof as we used them for shows all year around and it needed to get us there so we build them with good parts and as much new parts as we could afford and tried to save as many original german parts as possible as they lasted over 20 years standard so we built them standard and revamped them to keep them alive .. we are only a two man workshop in Greenwich so we build engines to order and kustomise them for the customers even colour them to match customers vans buggys and bugs which makes them 1 off builds everytime something my dad did back in the 70s to his beetle engines on the kitchen table most weekends my mum was out !! ,we just wanted to say hi to your forum and we hope to see you at some of the shows in the future . best johnnie kustom http://www.backstreetkustoms.com
Sorry I seem to have missed a few intro's including this one, welcome to TLB backstreetkustoms I have seen your adverts on eBay when I've been trawling for inspiration & parts etc. So do you guys also own aircooled rides? It's the law around here to upload pics
