Intake manifold stud unscrewing from head

  1. Tried that too but difficult to get to, kept slipping and no room to properly swing a hammer. I think weld on is next.

  2. Also a good idea. I'm trying to avoid too much swarf in the area as I'll be pulling the intake off as soon as it's free! Don't tell the missus I used the Dyson to clean up around the intake on the other side:oops:

Its also going to be easier and quite possibly overall quicker if you take the engine out, if its still in and you are struggling with getting tools in there.

  4. I have considered this. I would rather not but may have no choice.

    Hammer a 12pt 11mm socket on it?

    Took about 10 seconds:hattip:

  10. Lasts forever as well. I've had that for about 10 years and only a 1/4 way through it

Sadly , one of those rules. If you find yourself faffing for 2 hours because you cant get at it, and you are spending time and money and delay buying more and more tools, then the 6 hours of taking the engine out and putting it back is likely to be saving time and pain.
