Ever since l bought my Mk3 GTi l spent an age trying to get front fog lights for it to replace the broken one. l then had an altercation and needed 2 but l was never successful on ebay and always got out bided. Anyway as luck would have it, and with the new Golf l managed to get some because this car didn't have them. Being a top model l thought "result" l even had the proper switch with front fog light switch in and it works when you pull the knob. Brill. Everything must be there. My mk2 had extra wire terminals for fog lights and that was a Driver. So l fitted them tonight. All went well. I even managed to get the smaller blanks for the faux middle lights. Sadly there is no wire harness fitted on my car. So I've got to hard wire them in. What a plonker. If only l had checked the wires first.
live and learn. this is on database at gsf so using the vin and asking about the part you need will flag a part number. you can use that to ensure what you buy cheaper elsewhere will be right.
