Hi... following on from the last thread on a similar subject...

In the previous thread, there was a hole in the flywheel end of the crankcase (type 4 2L CJ), which a few people said was the timing sensor... this photo shows the hole clearer (left) with the sensor still in place on the right. Can anyone identify the hole please!?!

A couple more holes!! This one is in the top of the O/S top tin. The thermostat cable hole is bottom right of the photo with the oil breather on the right. The hole in question is towards the left at the base of the tin

lastly.... down to the rear of the warm air inlet there's a big gap where the tin meets the crankcase.... I thought it could be the fuel hoses, but think that goes through a grommet on the other side of the warm air pipe. The pics not all that great sorry!

Sorry for the silly questions, but I didn't strip all these bits down so it's a bit of a puzzle putting it back!

    Cheers,

    Andy

Can't really see Andy - it's all a bit black...

  3. The first one is the hole you'd use to attach your drive plate if you had an automatic gearbox.

  4. Cant help with the engine sorry as im not up to speed on the 2 litres

However if your taking pics to get help via the net i find it handy to make arrows out of masking tape and stick them on before taking the pics

It helps those looking to figure out what bit your reffering to

Hi guys.. thanks for the replies.

Arrows would be a good idea... but sticky tape on shiney parts.... no no no!! ;)

I like the explanation for the drive plate, will see if that helps to find a suitable over priced peice of plastic from one of the shops. I was pondering the fuel line and considering the fuel line still had it's jubilee clip in place, I don't think it would've gone through the hole I had previously thought... plus it seems as thought it wouldnt have had a grommet either :(

    Cheers guys.

Oh, Zed... black is the new, er, black ;)
