Morning all... Is anybody into UK Ice Hockey? My wife who is a Sheffield lass introduced me to it a years ago. We've become regulars over the last few years and are now even in the Sheffield Steelers Supporters Club. As we have to make the journey across from Lincoln we don't get to as many as we'd like to so we aim for the matches against the Nottingham Panthers as its alway a bit of a grudge match. Its cheap, always a great atmosphare and family friendly dispite the on ice fighting, but the kids love that.
Love ice hockey but always think the British version would be a bit namby pamby compared to the American/Canadian version. We should give it a go though - are Manchester phoenix still going?
Do the Mighty Ducks count? If so I'm in....... As with Manchester, are the Solihull Barons still going? Do the brit teams use many US / Canuck imports, like Brit basketball teams....
Yeah there are Americans and Canadians in the UK game, but plenty of UK players too. I'd like to see a North American game to see if there is a difference. Here are the teams in the UK league.
