Most people have no idea just how bad the Flu is because they have never had it ! I have had it 5 times in my life and have been completely flattened by it every time . If you have it you can forget about getting out of bed for at least 4 days and even sitting up to have a sip of water takes all of your effort .Expect to lose weight and be back to somewhere near full strenth in a month plus . General rule is if you can get out of bed you DO NOT have the Flu . .
Same here. Not quite so dramatic, but knocked me flat out for three or four days. Not had it for ages...and I've never had Covid.
Did you have your three covid jabs? It looks to me that the vaccination 'regime' that we were all 'encouraged' to follow was not to save lives on an individual or collective basis, it was operated to stop the NHS collapsing under the strain. I think they would have progressed a herd immunity approach ( as was initially discussed) if they thought the NHS could have managed it, with those at greatest risk being told to isolate at home to protect themselves, rather than totally disrupt the lives of the vast majority of people who would either never catch it, never know they'd had it, or would just have cold-like symptoms.
The forum is great at having people ignoring the titles of a thread and offering their opinion instead of facts.......the reason the NHS and most health providers round the world were struggling is because C19 was severely impacting people's health. Sweden followed a 'herd imunity' policy and had a significantly higher death rate than neighbouring Denmark (evidence from scientific paper in the publication Nature) Sweden and UK ended up having similar death rates. Evidence shows that if the UK had followed through with the Swedish policy if no lockdown, our death rate would have been up to 4 times higher. If we had followed the Danish policies (lockdown sooner) then our mortality rated would have been potentially much less, again facts from paper published in Nature.
Ignoring the title? The title is 'I was just thinking' Anyone can give thoughts and opinions, and facts aren't facts if they are qualified by the word 'potentially'. If Sweden followed herd immunity and had similar mortality rates to the UK, then that pretty much blows the UK's save lives approach doesn't it? EDIT: Although I would think that Swedens size v population would have made isolation of sparsely populated areas more effective. But what about countries in Asia with huge urban populations - they had little choice to adopt meaningfully lock downs - as you starve if you don't work, what are the mortality stats there?
When I read the title, I thought it was going to carry on as “I was wrong, my bivvie shoes ARE crocs, after all…”
Is that before we have to vet new joiners, check they are not aliases, check IP addresses against StopForum Spam database entries etc
I was told by an immunologist, who I trust implicitly, that they reckoned it was natural, it mutated too rapidly to be man made. They were also on the periphery of the AZ vaccine development as it overlapped their field of research and was involved in getting MERS and SARS samples from China once flights resumed. I don't think that we'll ever know the truth.
Just like there’s nothing on mainstream media about the farmers protesting across Europe They only report what they want us to see

I for one worked through the chaos in social care, never want to ever experience that again in my life. On a personal note I’m glad I had the vaccines as when I caught it it made me rather unwell.
People who worked for the NHS, through the pandemic and got covid are now suing the NHS #ambulance chasing solicitor's
Did anyone watch the 3 part drama on itv called “Breathtaking”? It was written by someone who was in the thick of it.
