  1. The wife got me an I pad for my b day and I have to say its ace ,ive used them before but now I have one for my self I love it .
Anyone else using an I pad on the forum ?
The wife also likes it because she can do medical based stuff on it and I can teach the kids loads of stuff on it (well how to weld a bay that is )
Just thought I'd share my love for this item lol

  2. Fantastic bit of kit. My wife has one and I am always nicking it! Just so much easier and quicker to use!

rickyrooo1 Hanging round like a bad smell

i haven't used one but i use i phone on here a lot, if i can afforfd to replace the laptop later this year i'll probably get one.

  4. Well the laptop has packed up again so I normally use my phone but this is bigger and better like you say it's just simple and easy.
Plus I can take it camping for the kids on the rainy days as I've got the sky wifi hot spots .
Some people are going to say why take this camping as you go camping to get a way from all this sort of stuff and my answer is how will I be able to keep in touch with the late bay club if I don't :)

  5. I bought one a few years ago and I love it I do.
So nice to pick up and web pages come up straight away.

I've just bought a windows laptop and get a bit fed up how long they take to load up when you want to use them. I couldn't justify spending all that money on a apple laptop 3 times the amount of a semi decent windows ones. My theory was if my laptop lasts 3 years then that's 9 years worth of laptops cos i could get 3 laptops for the price of one apple.

  6. Good point mate ,I got my laptop for free of a mate but I needed repairing so fixed it once and it's gone again a year or so later .
These pads do load well I've got the I pad 2 so the older one but with 36 gig in stead of the I pad 3 with only 16 gig .

  7. I love mine too, it's just so light and easy to use.

I watch MH lugging his big old laptop around and just pick mine up with one hand and even pop it in my bag for work. We took it to VoWo and as MH has free Internet on his iPhone we were able to tether the iPad and get free wifi, sweet!

I couldn't be without it now and it seems everyone is getting in on the act on work now ::)

Plus, by using Dropbox and Cloud On I can not only open Microsoft Office docs but amend them too, brilliant!

  9. Katie has the old iPad and loves it - but I would not want to own one myself. Much happier with my Macbook air and iPhone combo.

  10. What does drop box do then?
I did look at the macs but I like the I pad and there cheaper but I would like to be bale to open my c.v on here and sent it from the I pad

  11. Just had a look at drop box not sure if that is what I need but will look into it

  13. I looked into many other things but me and the wife like the I pads , plus I think I look cool using it lol ( joke )

  14. My wife has one and loves it, but she still can't do some stuff on it beacuse of the lack of Flash for browsing and the fact that you can only use Apple authorised Apps unless you Jailbreak. It sits around the house and is mainly used for games, messing about with photos / videos and a bit of browsing. When she does ebay stuff, it's always on my laptop as it's too much trouble on the iPad. Personally, I can't see the point. It's expensive for what it does and no use for me as I mostly do work stuff on mine at home or travelling, so need the full functionality and ability to read all kinds of documents, including CAD. Also, I hate touch keyboards, as they are simply too slow and prone to mis-types. I use a BB as a phone as well, had loads of touch screen phones in the past and just found them to be a pain. Much prefer a proper keyboard, because i can type fast and accurately on it. Generally, the laptop sits on my desk in hibernate mode, not completely off - boot up time is short in this mode, so not much downside compared to an iPad.

Summary: style over substance, although I have to admit it does have a lot of style.

  16. Sounds like an ok idea but my laptop is broken and awaiting all the info to come of it . But it may come in handy at some point .
I personal think that my I pad runs far faster than my laptop ever has ,yes the touch pad sometimes has a mind of its own and does not pick up the words as it should but I'm happy with how it works
