I had a problem with the horn!

  1. Yep, that quite common problem of going off prematurely. :)

Anyway, I did search the forum and found a number of answers however this is a different problem which was caused by fitting a new indicator stalk.

When I had assembled it all :)mad:) a slight rocking movement on the steering wheel would set off the horn. I went through all the insulation of the column etc but no good.

I worked out that it was a rivet on the new arm which was shorting to the wheel!

Yes, no two bays are the same but I only have 3 fixings for the stalk unit, the 4th hole isn't used however the plate was sitting proud on this side.

So, I had to pull it apart again and bolt this together to make it sit flat, jut in case someone else is thinking of replacing theirs watch out. ;)

The black X next to the screw is to stop me trying to undo it next time
