Nothing wrong with a Welsh Cake! Or a Bakestone as my Nan used to call them. Which made no sense at all. The bakestone was the heavy cast iron flat paddle she cooked them on. Anyway since emigrating to Inn-Grr-land I am very pleased to find that Waitrose stock them. And my Daughter still occasionally makes a batch. And my Mum still sends food parcels after 22 yrs. So my Welsh Cake supply chain is sound.
I have Merthyr Tidfil genes running around my body, I’m not sure if that’s goo or bad . I had a welsh cake for breakfast today.
1/4 actually - and I believe that the Welsh are the original Britons who were displaced by the Romans, Anglo Saxons and the Danes. I have no Welsh blood in me just Celtic - but Mrs Cunny has strong Welsh links so our kids have all 4 parts of Great Britain in their blood.
