Yesterday I took & completed my motorcycle CBT so am legally allowed to ride a 125cc on the ROAD (with L plates of course). It was a great day & I had a lot of fun plus the sun was shining to cap it all off. I’ve booked my theory test for the 19th of June so shortly thereafter I will be taking the plunge & doing the direct access training & tests.... I would recommend it to anyone!
I've had a motorbike licence since I was 16, but never ridden one....theoretically I could go out and buy a Harley and disappear into the sunset...theoretically! Fancy have a course just to learn the physical mechanics of riding one...only every had a Lambretta. Congratulations by the way.
Yeah - me too - passed my m'bike test in 1965 (car in '62)- but only ever ridden a Lambretta - (unless you count my brother-in-law's BSA 500 ridden round the block in 1st gear!) .
It's the foot up and down to change gear I don't get ..... I have to operate the sewing machine pedal with my hand , cos it goes far too fast if I use my foot... sometimes wonder how I ever learned to drive as I have no coordination.
Same with me - hand/eye/foot don't work in sync - rubbish at football and tennis and golf etc- but OK at Rugby at school and running - I would never be able to fly a helicopter!!
Used to go to a step class in village hall, had small weights in hands, couldn't keep feet and hands coordination. Was so bad , the class had an act in village show as a comedy act ! Only plus side, local Sun page 3 girl called Tracey did my makeup!
Old Brit stuff had the gear change on the right which confuses many of the born again lot . Gets better when you ride race stuff with a 'race' change pattern - the exact opposite of road bikes . Well done on jumping through the first hoop , glad I passed when I did - sounds ridiculous now .... Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
Passed my bike test in ‘68, on a Lambretta. Seems daft now that I could potentially ride any size bike. Did try a Triumph Bonneville once, just round the block. Actually got it into second gear
Passed mine in 1980 on a Kawasaki Z200 it did about 10,000 miles before the big end gave up the ghost, still managed to sell it though. Never rode any bike bigger than a Honda CB650 or a Triumph 650, the most scariest was a Suzuki GT550 triple cylinder two stroke that didn't go round corners.
I had one of those, hey hold on there was it you that sold it to me? you owe me big time, what a pile
