  1. I am looking for some new shiny hubs for my T2 - Obviously some of the cheaper ones die in a matter of seconds with in the British climate and I'm looking for advise on which ones to get..

    Stainless steel or chrome?
    Has anyone found a good place to get these from?

  2. Do you mean hub caps?

    Try & find some used German ones, maybe from Megabug, or shows. The new ones, as you say, rust in no time.

  3. hi, yep hub caps - you recommend the originals then with a clean up rather than any new lookalikes

  5. um..... definitely the reproduction hubcap!

    Whats the best way to clean up the old hubcaps then?

    Any suggestions?

  6. Autosol chrome cleaner is good stuff.

  7. Does the Autosol get rid of any rust that is on the hubs? or just cleans them up a tad??

  10. Do you have access to Oxalic Acid {wood bleach}?

    I did a thread on removing rust from chrome, on Jalopy Journal ( my old car club site)
    here a link to it..it really did work,
    [glow=red,2,300]it may loose some in translation--but hopefully it's understandable[/glow]?

    If the link doesn't work let me know & i'll try to retype it,----chuck
