  1. have got some new (to me) original hubcaps and although they've cleaned up lovely on the front, they do have some pitting/rust on the back.
i've cleaned them up on the back (wire wool, WD40, autosol) but wondered if there's anything i can do to protect the backs from further tinworm?

thought about wd40 before fitting or would they just S L I D E off? don't want to lose them, taken me ages to clean up :)

  3. thanks. no, but will get one.

what can i treat the inside with to prevent more rusty bits (like that's the only place!!!)

  4. ACF50 in an aerosol is brilliant stuff. Also use a little on a cloth to polish the outside of the hubcaps as it gets into the chrome finish and stops it from rusting from underneath. If you don't mind the 'dirty' look, put plenty on in the winter when the salt's about and don't wash until spring.

  6. On anything. Bikers spray it on for winter riding as everything is exposed on a bike and so it looks horrible when corroded. Buy it mail order from bike shops, or if you're passing Gainsborough I can let you have a part can to try.
