Hi I have a T2 2L Super Viking. I need new HT leads as mine are crap - can anyone recommend decent ones with long connections? I also need a new distributor Can you buy a distributor & electronic ignition kit combined - JK option is on back order and I'm keen to get on with it. Any thoughts please?
They have various electronic dizzies too. I’ve never used one, but they seem to have them https://www.heritagepartscentre.com...MI1a6_6NjU7AIVSoBQBh1lZQ3cEAQYASABEgID0vD_BwE
I use Bosch 8mm silicone leads, these - but I didn’t buy them from the US. http://vwparts.aircooled.net/Bosch-09-171-Plug-Wire-Set-021-998-031A-Type-4-p/09-171.htm Taylor leads are often recommended. EDIT: I have discovered Bosch 09-171 plug leads (VW P/N 021-998-031A) are no longer available. I guess too many would rather pay for poor quality leads rather than pay much more but only once. Most of the usual suppliers sell electronic distributors. Unless you are sure they are selling the brand you want I’d avoid JK if you want decent quality. 123 distributors are probably the best but they’re certainly not the cheapest.
May I ask which distributor you have and why do you feel the need to replace it. I would avoid JK and as advised, best to get a 123 distributor which has had good reports on the forum.
@Lasty is selling a correct bosch distributor for your engine that you could run as is with points or easily add an electronic module to.
I have indeed , I posted the 'ready to roll' one yesterday . If you want the other one could possibly order a new set of points or I have a spare accuspark electronic module which will fit . Up to you @ Becks2804 - pm me if you want more info ... Better than an accuspark dizzy Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
