Wasn’t a Devon, around £2,300 in ‘72? Bit cheaper than a 3 bed house or something like that?

  4. My Dads 74 Devon was about £1700 with seat belts (front only)

He kept it 13 years and got £2500 for it, which at the time we all thought that was an amazing result.

  9. Allowing for inflation that's the equivalent today to £17850, the current VW T6 campers start at around £55ko_O

  14. Yes, Bought my Kombi bus new in 1976, paid the equivalent of £2,900 in local currency, Nigerian Naira.
Full price without fiddling on the unofficial exchange rate would have been £4,100.
This is the reason I still have and love my bus......its about the only time in my life when I scored!!

  16. Yep - paid £4600 for my 2 bed semi dormer bungalow in 1972 - which puts it into perspective.

Sadly where you are changes house prices but not bus prices. Further south the house would have been more expensive.
To someone like @Barry Haynes darn sarf a bus would have been tips money.
